Minty Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

I love playing with candy.  It’s probably a weakness, but I have so much fun with it.  Nothing makes me happier than being able to throw in some M&Ms or Oreos and this time, I decided to use some Mint Creme Hershey Kisses.  This is an easy recipe, if a sticky one, so could easily be whipped up for the kid’s school Valentine’s party.  Beardy Fiance enjoyed them so much that he horded an entire tin to himself!

Minty Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies (adapted from Duncan Hines)

Ingredients:

1 box red velvet cake mix

2 eggs

6 tablespoons butter

1/2 bag Mint Creme Hershey Kisses

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon cornstarch

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMix together cake mix, unsalted butter and eggs.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAUnwrap the Hersheys Kisses.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPlace a Kiss inside a sphere of cake dough.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERARoll in powdered sugar and cornstarch.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPlace on a greased cookie sheet.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABake at 190C for about ten minutes (until firmly set) and allow to cool.
